Oxygen-deficient atmospheres are a significant cause of confined space fatalities. While normal atmosphere contains between 20.8 and 21 percent oxygen, an oxygen-deficient atmosphere contains less than 19.5 percent oxygen.
Oxygen-deficient atmospheres may occur when oxygen is displaced by inert gases, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane, etc. Oxygen can also be consumed by rusting metal, ripening fruits, drying paint or coatings, combustion, or bacterial activities.
Since we cannot see or smell oxygen deficiency, the hazard is not readily apparent to someone entering an oxygen-deficient environment. Low levels of oxygen can lead to impaired judgment, lack of coordination, behavior changes, dizziness, fatigue, and in worst-case scenarios, unconsciousness, and death. Even one breath of oxygen-deficient air could prevent your muscles from responding and, over a period of time, can impair muscular strength and blood circulation. Individuals with coronary, pulmonary, or circulatory disease may feel symptoms before others and are prone to be the most affected by oxygen-deficient atmospheres, which can lead to severe health complications.
There are indeed confined workspaces in many industries that are poorly-ventilated and pose health hazards to the employees and workers. What about your home? Surely your home is well-ventilated, and you keep your windows and doors open to let fresh air indoors. But is that enough? If you are living in the city, this could be counter-effective. Years of continuous air pollution can negatively affect the air quality of a city. Of course, now we have air-purifiers that can help purify the air inside your home or workspace. However, they are not the solution. Don’t rely on air purifiers to deliver fresh air or oxygen. Air purifiers circulate the same stale air inside our homes and workspaces that does little to improve the air quality. The effect of an air purifier is also limited to the area surrounding it, and it cannot work efficiently in large spaces.
It’s time to switch to a safe and healthy alternative with an Oxygen Generator. A Smart Oxygen Generator is a must-have for EVERY HOME. Some years ago, it was considered a luxury to purchase drinking water, but it has become a necessity today. The same goes for the air we breathe in. With an alarming rise in Air Pollution levels and a worrying increase in pandemics and especially respiratory tract-related diseases in the recent years, it is of paramount importance to ensure that the air we breathe in is HEALTHY, FRESH, and PURE. We spend more than 80% of our lives Indoors and if we can control the air quality, we’ll certainly lead much better and healthy lives.
